Advanced Technologies & Personalized Care
By using our advanced technologies and providing expert, personalized care, Dr. Herschel helps his LASIK patients achieve outstanding vision outcomes.
Dr. Herschel has been using cutting edge vision correction technology since the 1990s when he was involved in the FDA Phase III clinical trials that eventually led to the approval of LASIK and PRK in the United States. Dr. Herschel continues to use advanced technologies to achieve outstanding surgical results for his LASIK patients. He uses the Ziemer Galilei for corneal mapping, the Ziemer femtosecond laser for the corneal flap, and the Allegretto excimer laser for corneal sculpting. Astoundingly, over 90% of our patients see 20/20 or 20/15 after their LASIK Procedure!
However, technology is only part of the story.
Our patients achieve these outstanding outcomes because, in addition to using advanced technology, Dr. Herschel provides expert, personalized care. Dr. Herschel is both a cornea specialist and a refractive surgery specialist, and he has 25 years of vision correction experience. Dr. Herschel is also well known for being detail oriented and a perfectionist. If that is the kind of eye surgeon you are looking for, you may be interested in Alma, RianeMary, and Meredith’s online posts.
At our center, he is your personal surgeon. You will see him on your first visit. He will personally examine your eyes, discuss all your options with you, perform your surgery, and see you on your post-operative visits until you graduate from his care. Dr. Herschel provides truly personal care to his patients. If personal care from your surgeon is important to you, learn what Karen, Kevin, and Sara experienced.
It is the combination of Dr. Herschel’s experience, expertise, and personal care and our center’s advanced technologies that enables our patients to achieve these outstanding outcomes. Of course, there are no guarantees that you will achieve these same results. But at Herschel LASIK, we will assist you in selecting the best procedure to achieve your vision goals, help you get your eyes in the best possible condition before surgery, and provide you with outstanding care after surgery, so you have the best chance to achieve your best possible results. Technology is not a substitute for experience, expertise, or personalized care; it is a partner.
If you needed back surgery, wouldn’t you go to a surgeon who specializes in the spine? Since vision correction surgery is done on the cornea, doesn’t it make sense to choose an ophthalmologist who specializes in vision correction and the cornea? (Two of our patients, Sara and Nick, explain how Dr. Herschel’s combination of vision correction and cornea specialties benefited them.) Similarly, wouldn’t you choose a surgeon for your spinal surgery that has many years of experience? Think about how important your eyes are to you. Wouldn’t you do the same for your eyes?
Dr. Herschel’s involvement with cutting-edge technologies goes well beyond LASIK. Advances continue to be made in other innovative vision correction technologies and surgical techniques. This requires an ongoing investment by our practice in equipment and training. Dr. Herschel is experienced in the latest FDA approved vision correction technologies and procedures, including all-laser LASIK; PRK; topography-guided LASIK/PRK; Visian ICL; Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE) and Refractive Laser-Assisted Cataract Surgery (ReLACS) with toric, multifocal, and aspheric intraocular lens (IOL) implant options; treatments for presbyopia, and Keratoconus treatments including corneal collagen cross-linking, Intacs® corneal implants, topography-guided PRK, and conductive keratoplasty.
At Herschel LASIK and Cataract Institute, you will have the opportunity to learn about the latest vision correction technologies available to you to achieve your vision correction goals before making your decision.
